Gay-marriage rally held outside NYC Mormon temple

Hundreds of supporters of gay marriage gathered outside a Mormon temple to protest the church's support of a California ban on such marriages.

Protesters lined both sides of an avenue outside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints near Lincoln Center on Wednesday evening. Leaders of the Mormon church had encouraged their members to support passage of California's Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment that overturned the California Supreme Court ruling in May legalizing same-sex marriage. The amendment passed 52 percent to 48 percent.

San Diego man, Anthony Michaels, has filed what he hopes to be a class action lawsuit against Classmates.com , a social networking website designed around helping people connect with former classmates, claiming that the website defrauded him out of money when it bogusly informed him that some former high school classmates were trying to contact him. Classmates.com charges its users to communicate using its website so Michaels forked over $15 hoping to view messages from classmates he longed to hear from.
